Small family Christmas Vacation!

This year Cody and I decided we were going to take Gavin to the Gaylord Hotel and go see ICE! We made an attempt last year when Gavin was 8 months old and they ended up being sold out of tickets and so we only got to see Santa. So we pre-purchased tickets well in advance and we also got a room to stay the night. We could only get a reservation during a weekday...so I just HAD to take off a little bit earlier than planned for the Christmas break! We checked in the Thursday before Christmas and stayed until Friday. Gavin loved all the lights, trees, trains, etc. that they have setup during Christmas. Overall we had a great time! Gavin waved and waved at Santa and kept saying "Hi Santa" while we waited in line to see him, however once it was his turn he latched on to my neck, so we had a family picture with him! And of course I don't have a copy because they make you put your camera up and buy their copy. :)

ICE! was Shrek themed this year. Gavin wasn't really sure what to think of it. But we let him down inside for a while and he just kinda stared at it all. We ended up going through it fairly quickly...it's so dang cold! But here's a few of the pictures of our ICE! adventure:
Obviously I couldn't get Gavin's attention at this point...he was in awe!
Waiting in the holding room before we could get our jackets. They play a short video of how they make the sculptures and the whole process. Gavin didn't sit still for very long...
...so snack time!!!
Got our ginormous jackets and ready to go!!

Yes - I sure did ask someone to take a family picture!
Afterwards we walked around the gift shop and found this Gavin-sized train.

We ate dinner on "the riverwalk". We didn't have to wait very long but I didn't want to put Gavin down because I was afraid he'd jump right into that "river"!

After dinner we went up to our room to rest for a little bit. Cody went ahead and went down to stand in line to see Santa. Gavin and I decided to go down and walk around for a while and we made our way to the water fountain. He probably would have stood there forever!

 The view looking up!

After visiting with Santa we went back to the room and relaxed. We brought the pack-n-play for Gavin to sleep in but we all ended up falling asleep on the bed. That never happens in the Molock household...but hey it's a vacation!

The next morning before we checked out we walked around again to see everything in the light. I also wanted to go back down to where they had the snow hills to see if Gavin could ride the tubes down them. The guy wouldn't let him because he wasn't tall enough...and luckily Gavin didn't really know the difference so he wasn't upset.

Gavin wasn't really into smiling yet...so some random guy starting acting crazy behind Cody so that Gavin would laugh. I guess he didn't really think he was that funny!
Checking out the trains
Watching the big kids slide down the snow hills
Gavin was waving "Hi" to daddy!

Although it was short - we had a great time and hope to do this every year!
