A quick note

I still have every intention of blogging about Christmas, New Year's, special memories, people, etc. All in a specific order! However - I finished working tonight and Cody is doing a webinar so I decided to take a moment and document this:

I'll have to say that we have been incredibly lucky with Gavin - literally since Day 1. I had an easy, non-complicated pregnancy & a small bump during delivery but only because it didn't go they way I planned it out in my head. He ate well as a baby, slept well, etc. Obviously since he is child #1, I don't have much to compare to. But I've definitely been told that I'm lucky.

The stages are interesting...as soon as you figure out their schedule then bam! it changes again. So for today - he was such a sweetheart. I had to run to the grocery store before I picked him up from daycare so I didn't pick him up until right around 6pm. As soon as we got home he opened the pantry door (yes - he now opens doors!) and picked out some food. He sat at his table and chowed down and of course asked for more. Cody and I both stood in the kitchen talking and cooking for over 30 minutes and Gavin didn't say a word. Then he played by himself on the floor with some extra cups and watched a little T.V. while we ate dinner. After bathtime (which he loves) we brushed his teeth and then he played around by himself in the living room while I folded clothes. I've discovered within the last few weeks that an 8pm bedtime works well - so I asked him if he was ready to go night-night and he grabbed his blanket (that he is super attached to!), Nommie (a new stuffed monkey he got for Christmas) and his original Monkey, went and gave Daddy a hug, kiss and said "bye-bye daddy", then I swept him up and laid him in his bed. He waved night-night to me, blew me a kiss and said bye-bye mommy. He sleeps from about 8:15pm to at least 7:45am everyday. He pretty much 100% of the time wakes up once during the night and either plays, talks or something - but never bothers me other than I sleep light now and know when he wakes up for a while. Cody and I are still amazed every night at how well he goes to bed and how long he sleeps.

Obviously - I hope this never changes. I absolutely love this stage. It tests my patience for sure and sometimes gets the worst of me. But he is so much fun, sweet, interested in everything we do, learns something new everyday and always puts a smile on my face. I hope to cherish these moments when he's running around the house with a package full of yogurt melts and spilling them all over the couch!

I love you sweet boy - to the moon and back!

This is one of my recent iPhone pics of Gavin - right around 21 months.
Here's a video we made that same morning...sent it to Cody since he wasn't able to see him that morning. Made his day and kinda made mine too! He LOVES his daddy!

Happy Wednesday night...only two more work days left! :)
