I work in Fort Worth with a lot of people who have never been to First Monday in Canton...so a few months ago I went with another girl I work with and showed her the ropes! We had a blast, met up with both of my sisters and my mom and everything! She ended up finding a table and chairs there for super cheap for her two-year old. It's just rough wood that isn't finished - so she planned on painting it someday. I had every plan to get one soon for Gavin. Well...he started getting irritated sitting in his high chair. At daycare they sit in really low chairs at a table for meals/snacks. So anyway - I decided to make a last minute run to First Monday last month (August) when it was super hot and on a Sunday. Low and behold...they weren't there because it was too hot. So I was pretty frustrated of a huge waste of time and still not getting the table and chairs.
I also have recently discovered Pinterest and decided to search one day for a DIY table and chairs set. Found it!!!! To check out Pinterest go here. I talked Cody into helping me out with this project and we have now completed the table and one chair. I pretty much just helped pick out the wood, paid for it, and help cut it. He actually built the table one day after two-a-days football practice last week and the chair the following afternoon (in the hot, hot, hot garage!). I love it so far and it's just perfect!! There are still several finishing touches that need to be done, such as sanding and painting, but it's still functional until then. Here are some photos of our not-quite-finished product!
