It's a BOY!!

I had my 20-week sonogram on December 1st. Cody of course came along with me and we were both so excited to finally get a sonogram and to hopefully find out what we were having. It took the sonographer all of two seconds to say - IT'S A BOY!! I was not surprised at all - I felt like I knew all along that it was a boy. Cody and I just looked at each other with grins and light tears in our eyes. He was super cooperative and she took a lot of pictures for us. I think my mouth was wide open the entire time of the sonogram because it was so neat being able to see him at all different angles. I'm sure these are pretty hard to see because I took them with my camera phone and emailed them to myself. But here's a glance at what we got to see!
December 1, 2009 - Gavin Molock

Here he is sucking his thumb (or his hand is up close to his face) and his feet were pushing up on my stomach

If you look closely you can see where she typed in MALE close to his male parts. :)

After the sonogram I had a regular checkup and my doctor told me how the sonogram looked. He said that he looks good and he's developing as expected. The sonographer put him at a due date of April 16th - but my doctor decided not to change it yet because it was too early to tell. So I'm still officially due on April 19th. I do have a low placenta but my doctor said it's nothing to worry about and we'll do another sonogram somewhere between 32-36 weeks and usually to find that the placenta has moved up (9 out of 10). Otherwise I will be diagnosed with Placenta Previa - which basically means that the placenta is covering the cervix (it's below the baby) and can cause bleeding complications. But once again - he said there was no need to worry and to carry on with all my normal daily activities. So as expected - once we were done with the appointment we made lots of phone calls to deliver the news! Now comes the fun part of shopping and decorating his room!!
